I never thought I needed an editor

When I was an undergrad student many years ago, I thought I was invincible. I thought my writing was so good that fI didn't even read my essays before handing them in. I did this for my whole undergraduate career, even though I would get my essays back all marked up in red ink. I thought, "Meh, profs are wrong and my writing is flawless."
Boy was I wrong.
My prose wasn't bad really, it just wasn't polished. I discovered during my masters degree that my writing really wasn't up to snuff. I knew how to write, I just made careless mistakes everywhere. And you know what, your reader can't tell the difference between bad writing and careless mistakes.
So I began to do the most simple of editorial tasks: re-reading my essays. At first I thought it was a waste of time because I could have spent that time doing other things. But as soon as I got my papers back, I realized that the 20 minutes I spent re-reading my work was well worth it. It's a critical step in the writing process.
But a lot of people aren't confident in their own writing abilities. That's where hiring an editor comes in very handy. I can help you with those pesky grammatical issues, making your work look professional, and making sure those little mistakes don't slip through.
I can do a lot for you, too, if you get in touch earlier in the writing process. I help writers in all fields (students, scientists, historians, not-for-profits, museum professionals, etc.) improve their writing from the beginning. Do you need help conceptualizing or mapping out your project? I can help! Is your organization putting together a major report for donors, year-end, or a new program? I can help make it professional, clean, and clear. Are you as student working on your dissertation? Let me know, I can help with all aspects of it.
Leverage the power of your own words, and hire me to help you put your best words forward.
